Top 5 Local Only Breweries in Moab

Finding time to get out of your daily routine and enjoy a vacation somewhere scenic is important. A getaway is even more inspiring when you know you have your travel sights set on Moab, Utah! Between the stunning scenery and options to dine and shop in style, Moab is a place with a little something for everyone. When you’re looking for local and palate-pleasing stops to enjoy during your time in town, the following are the top 5 local-only breweries in Moab and the surrounding communities that are sure to bring you back time and again!

Monticello Liquor Outlet

Making your way to Moab is often an exercise in landing a place perfect for making the most of outdoor adventure and exploration. For many outdoor enthusiasts, a day of climbing, biking, hiking, or running is best topped off with a cold, refreshing beer or two. While Moab certainly has places to enjoy such an experience, it’s important to note that the state of Utah requires beer sold in taverns or breweries to contain no more than 3.2% alcohol. Restaurants must serve food with beer sales as well. The result of these laws is a culinary scene far less focused on beer than in neighboring states. There tend to also be fewer breweries throughout Utah than travelers might find elsewhere. Still, options to enjoy the brewery-inspired experience aren’t unattainable. If you find yourself in Moab looking for the best brews that the state serves up, they can typically be found in stock at the Monticello Liquor Outlet.

Located at 233 S. Main Street in Monticello, this outlet is just about a 50-minute drive from central Moab and makes for a convenient and comprehensive place to get your hands on the best craft beers that come from across the state. The Monticello Liquor Outlet is open Mondays and Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon until 7:00 pm.

Crosscut Brewery

If you’re willing to travel about an hour and a half from central Moab, you’ll find yourself in Price where Crosscut Brewery is the leading expert on all things locally brewed flavors. This inviting stop is situated within a log-cabin-inspired setting and guests are invited to settle in and enjoy a variety of small plates paired with brewed favorites from across the state. Many of the beers on hand come from Moab Brewery specifically and are best paired with savory options like poutine or onion rings. Located at 150 Hospital Drive, Crosscut Brewery is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm, Saturdays from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm, and Sundays from noon until 8:00 pm.

Suds Brothers Brewery II

Those who are looking to indulge in a delightful brewery scene with a bit more freedom on content regulations may find it worth their while to make the 1.5-hour drive across the border to Fruita, Colorado, and spend some quality time at Suds Brothers Brewery II. Situated at 127 E. Aspen Avenue, Suds Brothers Brewery II is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm with extended hours until 10:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. They’re open on Sunday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. Suds Brothers Brewery II serves up everything from pale ales and lagers to stouts and craft beer varieties that are sure to inspire. Pair your beverage selection with fish and chips or a bacon blue cheeseburger and your tastebuds will surely thank you!

Mulberry Street, Copper Club Brewing Company specializes unique flavor options paired with a traditional tap. This is a great rental. It was well stocked, clean and in great condition. The layout is great. We were a family of 4 so everyone got their own room and bathrooms had dual vanities. There is another bathroom with shower downstairs that we did not use. This could comfortably accommodate 3 couples; 4 if wouldn't mind using the bunk bed room. The kitchen was well stocked. We only cooked one evening but kitchen had everything we needed including common spices and some olive oil. Condo had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hand soap, dish soap and Keurig coffee pods. Condo is close to main part of town so we could have easily walked but Moab wasn't busy during our visit so we were able to easily find parking and drove most places. Cruiser bikes looked to be in good condition but we did not use them. The pool is closed for the winter but the hot tub worked and was well maintained. Garage at the condo was tall enough to accommodate our SUV with topper box and garage opener is included. Property management was by "Empty Spaces Vacation Rental Management." They were very professional and communication was excellent. That part of the experience exceeded a typical "host" for a VRBO. I wish they managed more properties in other locations (they manage some in Crested Butte, Havasu and Grand Mesa). I would absolutely stay at this condo again.

This property is located within waking distance to Main street downtown and is just a short drive to all things fun outdoors. It is very clean and has great amenities. Our kids loved the little play area! They felt they had their own special space away from us parents. This property really has all you need for a great vacation!

This was our first stay in a VRBO and it was exactly what we were hoping it would be. Super quick response from management, very easy process all around. Would definitely stay here again.

We were a group of two families with 4 adults and 3 children (11, 11 and 13). The house is well decorated, very clean and provided comfortable furniture for both relaxing and sleeping. There is also ample parking for up to 4 vehicles (2 car garage + 2 driveway spots). We had two cars, a RZR and trailer all of which we were able to fit at the property. The back patio overlooks a park with several trees which in my opinion is one of the best patio views in the development. Communication with the rental management agency was very clear and made that part of the experience effortless. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property.

We’ve stayed in hotels and condos in Moab and this was our best location yet. The condo is great with enough room for friends and family to all be together and enjoy each other’s company, but with rooms and bathrooms that allow for some downtime. We chose this unit because it was right next to the pool and we had kids with us. Best choice ever. We could be cooking on the grill while the kids (older kids) could swim. The kitchen was very well stocked and there were loads of towels and even games to play. We would come back to this property again for sure.

Awesome stay for our annual family trip! At first glance, it looked small (like the yard and pool etc) but once we got going we found it to be more than enough for our family and we had quite the clan. The pool is great for families with kids because there is a large step/pad on one side where my two year old could walk around and still be in the pool with everyone else. The yard has a fun playground for toddlers, and a nice lounge area where we played games. The house was super clean and comfortable, and great for the family to hang out. Parking galore. Plenty of things we needed like towels and blankets, etc. Great hosts! The location is good too, not far from stores or attractions like the London bridge. Would absolutely stay again if we come back to Havasu!
