As the world slowly begins to reopen, we are all starting to feel an impatience for normality. No longer do we take for granted the simple things in life: dining out with family, the camaraderie of working together, or even a hug between friends. We want to meet for coffee, we want to travel, and we definitely are ready for live music to come back into our lives! We at Empty Spaces are here to tell you that our hearts are full, and the Moab Music Festival of 2021 is back, playing the music you love against the dramatic backdrop of the red rocks we love!

August 30 Through September 16

Perhaps our favorite two weeks of every year, this year it is different, more important somehow, as the Moab Music Festival brings back the normality we crave. Offering the best of the best, the musicians who gather in our desert can be counted on to give us the sounds that speak to our soul: the rhythmic beauty of smooth jazz, the traditional notes of chamber music, and the joyful tunes of music being played from all over the world. The sounds of music blend with the sounds of nature, and as you ride the waves through the canyons on the Colorado River, hike to secluded spots in the same canyons and gather under white tents to hear narrations about the loss of freedom, (George Takei is the celebrated speaker at this concert!) you will know that at last you have found your happy place. Every day brings a new concert, a new way to discover nature and fill your hearts with all the music it can handle, and although there are still differences between the 2021 and earlier years’ festivals, it will still feel right in your soul.

The Differences

We are fortunate in that the Moab Music Festival never went away, and as we faced the challenges of 2020 and the pandemic, we adapted, a trend we are continuing this year, knowing the battle has not been won. All concerts are being held outside, and social distancing will be maintained. A smaller number of tickets are available for sale, so be sure to peruse the Moab Music Festival website and purchase your tickets early to ensure you have a space—and yes, there will be mask guidelines to follow as well. Ticketing is contactless, intermissions have been scrapped, and handwashing stations are provided, as are hand sanitizers for your safety. What hasn’t changed, however, is the beauty of the music and the joy we derive in its deliverance, so know that in your heart these concerts will be timeless.

At the Heart of It All

With all the changes made, the heart of the Moab Music Festival is still the same. It is about music, nature, and people, and how all three belong together. If you have ever attended a music festival before, you understand completely, and whether you have chosen the 1st Grotto Concert and are listening to Beethoven under the red natural arches of the canyons, or under that white tent again, this time listening to music that brings about the sensation of nights in Spanish Gardens, if you do not get goosebumps on your arms from the sheer beauty of the moment, maybe you chose the wrong concert! Maybe you are more a Music in the Park type of person, enjoying the casual conviviality of music designed to introduce your children to the joy of the song. Or perhaps you prefer to do something good for the world while enjoying your music of the night and will find that the House Benefit Concert, celebrating Beethoven’s 251 years of providing beauty for the masses, is more your style. Violin Sonata #4 will break your heart anew, and as the last notes float away into the night air, you will wish the moment never has to end. The choices are plentiful, but perhaps the most moving for all Americans will be the Manhattan Transfer night, taking place on September 11. Held under the shelter of an open pavilion at Sorrell River Ranch & Spa, you will never feel more American on this the 20th anniversary of a terrible American tragedy than you will right here, listening to the smooth jazz of Manhattan Transfer echo off the mountains that surround you.

Come Home to Comfort

When the last note has played and the moon is bathing the landscape with a cool glow, coming home to our Empty Spaces vacation escapes promises to be the moments you will remember most. Reserve your stay today and come home to comfort every night of your Moab getaway!

This is the most clean Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The house is extremely stunning and cozy. It’s so we’ll cared for and clean that the sheets smelled like Softener. The amount of detail in that house has is something to really appreciate. The movie theater is wonderful alongside with the pool. Oh! And it’s fully stocked with everything you need . This house was one of the best. Looking forward to stay here again in the future. Everything was smooth and communication with the host was great 10/10

Upon arrival we were thrilled with the cleanliness of this unit! I have never been in a rental cleaner than this! Not one stray hair or fuzzball could be found. This rental has anything and everything you need! The kitchen is fully equipped with any small appliance you would need, a multitude of cooking spices, oils and nonstick spray. Aluminum foil , sandwich bags, sharpies and batteries were even available! The beds, couch and furnishings were comfortable and felt great after our long days exploring the area. Even the 2 foldaway beds were a hit with a couple of our teenagers. In the garage we were happy to have available a bike repair stand and multiple bike tools, including a standing pump and wrenches. Also available in the garage was a giant Jenga set and a cornhole set that our teenagers had a ball with having nightly tournaments. It’s perfectly located in my opinion. It’s a quick bike ride or drive to town and to area attractions. We were primarily there for mountain biking, but also visited Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. We also took a rafting trip on the Colorado River. This was the best trip we’ve had in years and that is mostly due to this rental! We had no issues and no complaints! Great job hosts! You are truly making vacation dreams come true!

Airbnb
Stress free vacation! All the family was able to be together in one location. Normally we have a caravan of travel trailers where everyone goes and hides to get out of the heat. Being able to eat together, watch movies together and get on the razors and ride right to the trails made all the difference. My grandkids didn't want to leave, neither did my nieces. They loved the pool and bike ride to the yogurt shop. Perfect location, tons of parking for several trailers, excellent customer service and very clean. I would stay a hundred times more!

We booked this house to come together for my daughters 8th birthday celebration at the lake, and wow were we impressed! Beautiful home, very modern minimalist style. All amenities provided! No need to bring toiletries they have the best products! The kitchen is fully stocked, you’ll have enough dishes for 20 plus! Exceptionally clean! The showers are like a spa, and they have soft water so, you come out with super soft skin. The backyard is an oasis, for all ages. The kids and adults can all enjoy at the same time! You will love this place. It’s close to the lake and the AC is always at the perfect temp! We will be booking this palace in the future for sure!!!!

This property was everything it was described as. Spacious, clean, great spaces for gathering. We stayed 3 nights here with 21 people and we had a blast. About a ten minute drive from the “downtown” area of lake Haveasu. I couldn’t be more pleased with the property. Overall it made our trip and we had a wonderful time. Would absolutely return!

We all loved our visit to Moab. It was comforting to come back to this place after a day in the elements, feeling like we were luxuriating after working out hard. This place is well stocked. From the kitchen appliances, cookware and even condiments to the linens and bathroom soaps and lotions, we kept commenting that this was the best stocked vacation rental any of us had experienced. Having the garage to store our bikes and other gear made it easy to come and go. The team we texted with about questions or reports about problems were always responsive and accommodating. We recommend this place without question.

Airbnb
Beautiful, clean home with perfect location. Everything was 5 minutes away. The master bedroom bed was very comfortable. Communication was incredibly prompt. The blender was broken and after letting the hosts know, they had it replaced within the hour without even being asked, which was super appreciated. We highly recommend!

We had a blast! Totally exceeded expectations! This property is really a big “compound” with two houses. Super clean, comfortable and spacious. It has a luxury resort feel, which made for an incredibly relaxing weekend even with a really large group. There are so many places to sit and relax with the group or on your own. Coolest amenities we liked were: **The pool and hot tub - pool has a waterfall plus it was heated and big enough for our large group. Gorgeous place for a night time swim. **Movie & Game Room - loved the movie-size projection screen. Great for watching football while playing pool, air hockey, etc **The private electric gate - has a door opener and gate that lets you drive several cars right up to the doors in between the two houses plus 2 garage parking spots. Very convenient for unloading and for securely parking a boat trailer or RV. This house was immaculate and well taken care of. Definitely coming back next time we’re in Havasu. Highly recommended!

We have stayed in Airbnb’s all over the world! We really loved this one. I think it’s well rounded and precisely what anyone needs; whether that is for large groups, couples, romantic, homey, open, cozy, functional etc. it’s a bit off town so perfect for quiet and calm. We did hear neighbors a few times, it was never at night. We slept well, there are many beds to choose from certainly. Laundry room is accessible and convenient to bedrooms. Decorating is lovely and charming. Kitchen is great, and stocked for anything you’d like to cook basically. It is clean and very well kept… NO SHOES! Remember that rule! It’s why we rented… It should be a rule anywhere. The national parks are all within driving distance and often quite dirty. This is an excellent rental and we would stay here over and over. I have rarely felt as such for other locations or home. Thanks
