Tour Taliesin West | Things to do in Scottsdale

Taliesin West is Frank Lloyd Wright’s beloved winter home and desert laboratory located in the desert foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona. Established in 1937, Taliesin West was diligently handcrafted by Wright and his apprentices and maintained for years by the same, making it one of Wright’s most personal creations. Frank Lloyd Wright lived at Taliesin West until his death in 1959 at the age of 91. Truly, it is deeply connected to the desert of which it was forged, described by Wright as “a look over the rim of the world.”

Taliesin West Tour Information

The only way to visit Taliesin West is by booking a tour. You will not be allowed to enter the estate unless you are there for an official tour or event, therefore it is very important that you make an online ticket reservation in advance. There are two tour options.

The Guided Insights Tour is Taliesin West’s signature tour. Visit Wright’s private quarters and living room, the gracious Taliesin West Garden Room, the Drafting Studio, the Music Pavilion, the Cabaret, and more. This tour is available Thursday – Sunday. On Thursday and Sunday, tours are given between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, tours are given between 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. The cost is $40 adults, $30 students (age 13-25 with student ID), $19 for kids (age 6-13). Kids under 6 are not allowed on this tour. Duration is 60 minutes.

Bring your smartphone and headphones for the new Self-Guided Audio Tour. Move at your own pace with the self-guided audio tour that allows visitors a safe and interactive experience using their own devices (headphones are available for purchase should you forget yours). This tour is available Thursday – Sunday with departure times of 10 a.m., 10:10 a.m., and 10:20 a.m. The cost is $20 per person. Durations is 60 minutes.

This home was great for our family vacation in Moab. The house was very clean, kitchen was very well equipped and labeled with everything you need for prepping and cooking meals. The rooms were all very clean and also well equipped with towels , sheets, blankets, etc. The yard worked great for our dog. Highly recommend this lovely home!

We came down as a family to enjoy Moab. The house was incredibly clean and comfortable. We love the location being slightly off main street but within a close distance to Arches National Park. Everything about the process was communicated accurately and well. We would highly recommend.

My friends and I had an amazing experience with this listing and the management company responded immediately to my questions! The house was cleaned well and had a great layout for a larger group. The casita adds a whole new dimension to ther fun and the pool and outdoor shower create the ultimate summer experience! Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again.

Overall, our stay at Scott and Sarah's Airbnb in Moab, Utah, was exceptional. The immaculate cleanliness, abundance of amenities, inclusion of bikes for the kids, and the spaciousness of the property all contributed to a truly enjoyable experience.
